Character Info
Name:Lydia Dupont
Nickname:
Age:15
Gender:Female
Year:Sophomore
School:Westfield Academy
Character Personals;Here
Appearance: Lydia possesses striking dark features that enhance her classic good looks. Her parent’s contrasting ethnic backgrounds caused an interesting genetic effect on her outward appearance. She mostly inherited her mother’s harsh dark Moroccan features, though it tends to blend with her father’s more Arian Norwegian traits. She has rich dark brown hair that naturally hangs pin-straight across her back, though she often teases it into several different styles. She has mousse-brown eyes that sparkle gold in the correct lighting (a lighting that she is conscious of, and specifically sets at her dinner parties). She has a small-sculpted nose, precisely plucked full eyebrows, rounded cheekbones, and plump lips. Lydia is on the petite side, and stands at five-foot-two (though her personality makes her seem much taller), and weighs one hundred and five pounds.
Usually Wears: Lydia’s style can be described as ‘Upper East Side chic’. She enjoys putting a new spin on classic clothing. She is incredibly label conscious, though she can stray from the top designers to purchase smaller brands like Free People, or Marc Jacobs.
General Personality: On the surface, Lydia seems to be the Upper East Side archetype—she is cunning, ambitious, driven, and extremely jaded. She inherited her mother’s skills for manipulating and social planning, along with a cutthroat desire to be the best for the best. What sets Lydia apart is how she goes about accomplishing herself. She demands to be the cream of the crop. She is fiercely independent, and would much rather become a CEO than marry one. She is label conscious, but she is not fickle in any sense of the word. Every action, every sentence, every second of her life has an organized purpose towards propelling her to the next step.
Interior Personality: With Lydia, what you see is what you get. Her personality is practically the same on the inside as it is out. Though she may be subconsciously more self-conscious than she appears to be.
*Note* Lydia has a slight case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, though its symptoms are mild and are usually only evident in her immaculate room, and rigid organizational skills.
Fears:
- Failing
- Not getting into her college of choice
- Extreme heights (though she is not scared of flying)
- Nuclear holocaust
- Becoming a disgrace/laughing stock
Likes:
- Being in control
- Organization
- Reading (she needs reading glasses)
- Solving difficult mathematical equations
- Fashion
- Spending time with the people she loves
Dislikes:
- Disorder
- Lackadaisical people
- Sycophants
- Being late
- Fast food
History:
Lydia was born in Mount Sinai hospital in Manhattan, New York City, on September 13th to parents Laurence Dupont and Clarrisa Sinclair-Dupont. Lydia grew up in a penthouse apartment on 5th avenue and Seventy-fourth Street that overlooked Manhattan’s Central Park. Since both of her parents worked, a team of household staff and various replaceable nannies practically raised her and her older brother Clark. Her childhood was an incredibly happy, albeit lavish, time in her life. She enjoyed several trips to the park, and attended one of the top pre-prep school preschools in the city. When it was time to go to school, Lydia and her brother were sent to The Trinity School, one of the top private schools in the New York City school system.
Around the time of her eighth birthday, Lydia’s parents split up. It came as quite a shock to her, for she had never seen her parents truly argue (though she supposed one of the main problems was that she never really saw her parents talking to one another). The divorce was brutal, and forced a wide separation in the family. Their properties were divided, leaving Clarrisa the summer home in East Hampton, and Laurence (who was the freer-spirit of the pair) his cherished winter abode in Woodstock, New York. The divorce was so vile, that Clarrisa vowed never to lay eyes upon Laurence again. She shut him out of all of their social circles, and stuck him on a blacklist. She kept their extravagant Upper East Side apartment, and forced Laurence to move to a cheaper neighborhood— Greenwich Village. Lydia’s parents divorce split up more than just property, it split up the family as well. Clarrisa decided that it was best to divide their familiar assets (or children, as more affectionate parents might call them) too. She decided to take Lydia, and left Laurence to raise Clark.
Lydia simply adored her life in Manhattan. It had everything she could ever need, and gave her more than she could ever ask for. At Trinity, she rose in the ranks, and soon proved herself to be one of the top students in her year (she excelled at both sciences and humanities). She was swinging from the top rung of the social latter as well, and was known throughout the school as the well-dressed queen of classy dinner parties. It came as quite a shock to her when her Mother decided to quickly move away to California. Her father, a wealthy Wall Steet banker, had recently been involved in a high profile embezzlement scandal that landed him in jail and splattered across the pages of Page Six. Her mother was too embarrassed to face her friends, and promptly moved Lydia and Clark (who was now back in her custody after eight years) to California.
Family:
- Father: Laurence Dupont (Banker—Currently in prison for fraud and embezzlement).
- Mother: Clarrisa Sinclair-Dupont (Editor of a struggling fashion magazine).
- Older-brother: Clark Dupont (She loathes her older brother).
- Cat: Minx (A ‘Serval Hybrid’ breed. PICTURE)
